Gravel has been ordered for streets. Some gravel has been placed on Layne Road. In order to spray gravel roads to reduce dust with oil drilling waste water, the village will need to get approval from the Nebraska Oil and Gas Commission. The runoff may kill grass.
Discussion was held on new playground equipment and shelter house. Waiting for information from Keiwit Foundation regarding available grant money. Trustee Einspahr is working on getting names/numbers for businesses that may have funds available for donations.
RCVFD is interested in using the Fire Hall for a fundraiser in November. Request will be placed on August agenda.
Question was raised as to who is responsible for policing whether businesses pay sales tax? Per discussion with the State of Nebraska Department of Revenue, it is the State’s jurisdiction. If an individual feels there is a business that may not be paying their sales tax, there is an anonymous line to report. The state does not provide a list of businesses that file/pay sales tax.
There are two campers parked on one property at 105 W. 4th. Letter will be sent advising that only one camper is allowed to be parked on one property.
